Learn how to make delicious Parmesan Brussels Sprouts Bake. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese for extra richness

These ingredients come together to create a dish that’s as comforting as a warm hug. The nutmeg adds a hint of spice reminiscent of the cinnamon crumbles my mum used to bake, while the Gruyère offers an extra layer of indulgence.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, pepper, and minced garlic until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the Brussels sprouts in the prepared baking dish. Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top.
  4. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and nutmeg over the Brussels sprouts, ensuring even coverage.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the cheese layer.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and the top is golden and crisp.
  7. If you’re using Gruyère, sprinkle it over the bake in the last 5 minutes of cooking for a melty finish.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

The visual cues of a bubbling top and crispy, golden edges will remind you of the joy that comes from a perfectly baked dish.
