Ingredients
Scale
Each ingredient in these recipes is chosen for its ability to soothe and refresh, much like the rolling hills of Devon that have been my lifelong backdrop.
- 2 cups chamomile tea, brewed and chilled
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 tablespoon honey (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup elderflower cordial
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Ice cubes for serving
- Optional: fresh fruit slices (like oranges or lemons) for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by brewing the chamomile tea. Allow it to steep for about 5 minutes to ensure a robust flavor, then set aside to cool.
- In a pitcher, muddle the fresh mint leaves gently. This releases their essential oils, adding a refreshing note to your drink.
- Add the chilled chamomile tea, honey, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and elderflower cordial to the pitcher. Stir well until the honey is completely dissolved.
- Place a cinnamon stick into the pitcher and allow the flavors to meld for at least 10 minutes. This is the perfect time to reminisce about sunny picnics and warm kitchen gatherings.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the mixture over the ice. Give it a gentle stir, and if you’re feeling fancy, add a slice of fresh fruit as a garnish.
- Serve immediately, and let the calming aromas and flavors wash over you.
