Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, and ground cinnamon. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
