Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (preferably 80/20 for a balance of flavor and juiciness)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional toppings: sliced cheddar cheese, pickles, or sautéed mushrooms
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can substitute the Worcestershire sauce with a splash of soy sauce for a different twist, or add a dash of chili powder for an extra kick. It’s all about creating a story with your food, much like the ones I penned in my tea-stained notebooks.
Instructions
- Preheat your Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat, about 375°F. The sound of sizzling beef reminds me of the crackling fire in our cottage on a cold winter’s night.
- Add the olive oil to the griddle, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Once the oil is hot, add the chopped onions and garlic. Sauté them until they are translucent and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the griddle. Use a spatula to break it apart and spread it evenly across the surface.
- Sprinkle the smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper over the beef. Stir occasionally, allowing the beef to brown evenly. This should take about 6-8 minutes.
- Pour the Worcestershire sauce over the beef, mixing it well into the meat for an added depth of flavor. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- If using cheese, place slices over the beef and let them melt. Remember, the best dishes are those shared with laughter and good company.
- Once cooked to your liking, remove the beef from the griddle and serve with your favorite toppings.
