Ingredients
Scale
- 500g ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can of tomatoes (400g), diced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they’re soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Continue to cook until the beef is browned all over.
- Stir in the tomato paste, ensuring the beef is evenly coated.
- Add the diced tomatoes, oregano, and cinnamon to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
- Once cooked, garnish with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of Parmesan, if desired.
