  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they’re soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Continue to cook until the beef is browned all over.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste, ensuring the beef is evenly coated.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, oregano, and cinnamon to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  6. Once cooked, garnish with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of Parmesan, if desired.
