Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup cooked rice or pasta, for serving
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Feel free to add a dash of chili flakes if you’re in the mood for a bit of heat, or swap the beef broth for vegetable broth if you’re looking for a lighter option.
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
- While the beef mixture is simmering, prepare your rice or pasta according to package instructions.
- Once the ground beef is ready, serve it over the cooked rice or pasta. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness.
