- 500g ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until they’re soft and fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
