Learn how to make delicious Easy Christmas Oreo Truffles. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 36 Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz semisweet chocolate, melted
  • Festive sprinkles for decoration
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can substitute the semisweet chocolate with white chocolate for a different flavor profile, or add a dash of peppermint extract for a minty twist that echoes the crisp winter air.

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until they become fine crumbs.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined and smooth. This is where the real fun begins, as the mixture starts to resemble the dough of my mum’s famous crumbles.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This chilling time allows the truffles to firm up, making them easier to handle and dip.
  4. Once chilled, melt the semisweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  5. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is completely coated. This step always reminds me of how my mum would expertly drape icing over her cakes, a skill I strive to emulate.
  6. Place the chocolate-coated truffles back onto the parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with festive sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  7. Let the truffles sit until the chocolate has hardened completely. You can speed up this process by placing them in the refrigerator.
