Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh apple juice
- 1 cup sparkling water
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Ice cubes to serve
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the fresh apple juice and sparkling water. Give it a gentle stir to blend the flavors. This simple mix is reminiscent of the fresh, unfiltered apple juice Mum used to press in our backyard — pure and full of character.
- Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey. Stir until the honey dissolves completely. Adjust the sweetness to your liking; after all, every palate has its own story to tell.
- Sprinkle in the ground cinnamon and give it a good stir. The cinnamon adds a comforting touch, much like the cinnamon-dusted treats from my childhood kitchen.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the drink over the ice. Watching the drink cascade over the ice reminds me of those chilly Devon mornings warmed up by a steaming cup of tea.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a slice of lemon. The mint’s aroma takes me back to the herb garden where Mum and I would pick fresh sprigs for our Sunday roasts.
- Serve immediately and enjoy with friends or family, just like those cozy gatherings around our too-small kitchen table.
