Ingredients
- 2 cups apple juice, preferably freshly pressed
- 1 cup sparkling water
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Ice cubes
Just like in my mum’s recipes, feel free to adapt the ingredients to your taste. If you prefer a bit more zing, add extra lemon juice. Or if you’re like me and adore cinnamon, a pinch more never hurts.
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the apple juice, honey, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Stir until the honey is fully dissolved and the spices are well mixed.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together, creating that comforting harmony I love.
- When ready to serve, fill each glass with ice cubes, about halfway full. Pour the apple juice mixture over the ice, filling the glass three-quarters of the way.
- Top off each glass with sparkling water, giving it a gentle stir to combine.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a touch of elegance and a hint of color that brings the drink to life.
Just like sneaking into the kitchen at dawn, making this drink is about taking your time and savoring each step. Feel free to experiment with the spices to find your perfect blend.
