Ingredients
Scale
- 4 turkey legs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of heat)
Feel free to substitute the smoked paprika with regular paprika if you prefer a milder flavor, or swap out the thyme for rosemary for a different aromatic twist.
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (360°F). As the warm air begins to circulate, I always find myself reminiscing about the cozy warmth of our old kitchen back home.
- In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- Rub the turkey legs with olive oil, ensuring they are coated well. This, I learned from mum, helps the spices adhere better and crisps up the skin perfectly.
- Generously season the turkey legs with the spice mixture, making sure each leg is well covered. This is the part where flavors really come to life.
- Place the turkey legs in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You’ll want the air to circulate freely for that perfect crispness.
- Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through. You’ll know they’re done when the skin is beautifully golden and a thermometer reads 75°C (165°F) at the thickest part.
- Remove the turkey legs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This resting time allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring every bite is as juicy as the last.
