Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of refrigerated pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 cup diced green bell peppers
- 1/4 cup diced red onions
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
If you’re feeling adventurous, swap out the pepperoni for cooked sausage or add a sprinkle of red chili flakes for a spicy kick. The idea is to make these bites your own, just like the recipes my mum and I would adapt over time, sharing stories and laughter along the way.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, followed by the Parmesan cheese.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices, green bell peppers, and red onions over the cheese layer.
- Sprinkle dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the toppings.
- Gently roll the dough from one long side to the other, creating a log. Pinch the edges to seal.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 1-inch slices and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the bites with olive oil for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the dough is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, just like how my mum always insisted we wait, letting the flavors settle and deepen.
